Workshops

We have amazing teachers to take you on a journey of learning. They will cooperate to make the program a very special combination of insights.
Day socials
14:00 – 22:00 on Saturday, Sunday & Monday.
During afternoon and early evening we will host some cosy socials in a separate room. Perfect to chill out as a break or just in the cycle ‘dance-sleep-dance’.
Night parties
22:00 – 03:00+ on Friday, Saturday, Sunday & Monday.
We will make the night parties into a mesmerizing experience, with some of the best Zouk DJ’s of the planet. But without extensive shows/competitions.
In between
Spend your free time, take a breathe or recharge….
If you disocver what’s in & around our venue, you would probably not mind if the Zouk was less. Enough space to sit, relax and enjoy nature!

Zoukdreams will host two weekend events with Castle of Miracles and The Monastery. For the latter event read further at the bottom.

We carefully chose the program. We composed a mix of great dancing and a journey of workshops, but also focus it on full weekend attendances.

Parties will not be interrupted with longs show blocks and we will not organise competitions. We want to let you focus on your own reason to dance.

What is the Zoukdreams Monastery?
At the Monastery we have a small scale retreat style Zouk weekender, with intensive workshops diving in deeper in a learning voyage. This all happens at a different venue which accommodates around 40 participants.
Are you someone that is just in awe of the magic Anderson & Brenda transmit through their dancing? 
In this weekend you will be training unique Brenderson Techniques and dive deep into the foundation and building blocks. Of course Anderson & Brenda will also cover methods of connecting. All together it is about the aspects it takes to achieve more miracles in your dancing.
We will create the perfect environment for you to experience more grounding and flow in your dancing through Brenda & Andersons unique & passionate way of teaching. Are you excited for an all taken care of retreat where the only things you have to do are learning, dancing and enjoying, then this Zoukdreams Monastery weekend is for you!

What are we working on this edition of Castle of Miracles:
67% of the participants said they liked the food* last time. But still we will upgrade the food at next edition to satisfy even more people. We will have even more fresh food from a real chef kitchen who will also add more protein options. There will be more dairy/egg (separately served), but we will stick to the idea of vegetarian food (64% of the participants of the previous edition were fine with that).

Participants rated the dance floor in the main room with a 7 on average. This is still a very good number, although we had mixed signals from some individuals. Of course for a dancing event the floor should be perfect and we take this most seriously. Therefore we will work on a few broken tiles and even consider to rent a floor, although this would affect ticket prices significantly.
We will enhance the experience of the accommodation. It’s not that we received bad feedback, because 71% liked their room layout & bathroom and 89% liked the beds. Although we are not pretending to be a hotel (and a typical room there is more expensive) we are planning to do small but very noticeble changes to improve your stay.

Volunteer options
We are looking for volunteers to co-create a magical event with us!
It is possible to apply for discount by helping out with all kind of small tasks. If you work for around 4 hours per day you will be able to obtain a full pass for free already! Possible tasks will include a wide array of things, including: kitchen work, preparations & cleaning phase, bar service, etc.

Discount for special circumstances
We will reserve some discount budget for helping people in need to come to our event by giving them special discounts. Among other circumstances, we are wiling to help people from low-income countries (only if their situation requires). If you need discount because of your financial situation, you may send us a message via our contact page. Please note we have limited budget to give discounts and we will need to look at a per person basis what we can do.
Important information
Please note: the above mentioned price excludes accommodation and food. We highly recommend booking an accommodation package (more information scroll down).
We will assign places in the event first to people staying at the venue. If you’re planning to stay elsewhere, you can buy an event ticket (use early birds) and we will do our best to give you a place. In the unlikely scenario we can’t, we will reimburse you.
Note: special (early bird) prices will only be offered for full-passes. We may add some other type of passes if capacity allows for.

Staying at the castle will give you an amazing novel experience of a Zouk festival: a sensational building offering a friendly atmosphere, but the sensation of a full Zouk congress vibe. That’s the reason we strongly advise to stay at our venue!
There are rooms in all sizes, which gives you the opportunity to find the right size if you prefer to stay with a group of friends. You can fill-in the dedicated share room request form or contact us beforehand to make sure there still is a full room of the right size available.

We try to offer you an attractive & great package with everything you need during the extra long weekend. Prices are based on what we need to pay to rent the rooms. Click on the tabs down here to see details including pictures of the rooms. NOTE: all rooms have been designed and crafted one by one, sourced locally. Since we have 80 or 90 unique rooms, it is impossible to display the precise layout and look & feel of each of them.

Private room package
When booking a private room you will get your own room including private shower and toilet. In most cases this will be a twin (2-person) room, converted to single usage. NOTE: the room may include only 1 single bed.

Twin (2 person) room package
Twin rooms have 2 comfortable single beds. There are no rooms with double beds, but you can put together two beds to create the feeling of a double bed.

Triple (3-person) room package
Triple rooms have 3 comfortable single beds. For pictures see these pictures of twin rooms, but imagine a third bed.

Quadruple (4-person) room package

Quadruple rooms have 2 comfortable single beds and a nice bunk bed with a top & bottom. Like in the twin rooms, there is a shower and toilet, Every room has different lay-out and unique decorations.

Dormitory (between 5-8 people) package

There are some rooms with capacity for multiple people. There are a minimum of 5 beds and a maximum of 8 beds. Some of the beds are in bunk bed lay-out. Like in the twin rooms, there is a shower and a toilet, but it’s also possible to use the showers/toilets of the bunkroom which are a little walk away. Every room has different lay-out and unique decorations.

Bunkroom (15 or more people) package
MATTRESS
BRING YOUR OWN
We create an option to sleep in a room with 15 or more people (MIXED GENDERS). This will consist of mattresses on the floor. Maybe this will be the cosiest way to sleep!
In all cases you will sleep on a mattress on the floor. When choosing bring your own, you have to TAKE YOUR OWN mattress, duvet, pillow and towel. For the other option this is provided.

The stone floor on the picture has floor heating, so you do not need to worry about the cold. You may also be placed in another building where we may use a sort of meeting room (it has proper curtains). which we may convert it to a cosy sleeping room. We do not have pictures available yet.
Note that this is the only room type for which shower/toilet is not in the room itself. You need to go down the stairs and either walk via the short route outside or go via the ground floor underneath to the shower facilities.
Campsite package
We will have our own Zouk campsite about 100 meters away from the building. Here you can find more of your own space! But you have to bring your own camping device, including all sleeping gear. There are good shower and toilet facilities available: on the campsite itself and/or also in the main building. Also electricity is provided on the campsite itself (see picture). If you have a camper/van it can be placed in between the trees on the pathways. Note: although April is not a warm month in The Netherlands, since we are located in the east of the country the average temperature in April is 2 degrees higher than in Amsterdam.

Why we DEFINITELY recommend to do it:
Spaces for dancing, workshops, etc.
We have many rooms for dancing, workshops and other activities. Although no previous Zouk event took place, we still want to share some impressions of 2 of our rooms.
The main room is like a fairytale. It allows us to dance together with a big group. It has direct access to the park outside.
The downstairs dance room provides plenty of space for workshops and has direct access to the terrace outside.
All parts of the building are unique: although it is only a few years old, a lot of charming vintage materials been re-used to create a fantasy atmosphere. Moreover every room has been decorated in a different way.
Building from the outside
Also outside there is a lot of (event) space to benefit from.
All rooms have relatively new comfortable beds. Every room has a different lay-out, but they all include their own (private) toilet and shower (except the bunkroom).
